  • Restaura’t 2013, Gastronomic event in San Antonio

From the 2nd of November to the 15th of December, in San Antonio they’ll celebrate the new edition, for 5th year in a row, of the Ibicenco Cuisine and Gastronomy Contest, “Restaura’t” (“Certamen Gastronómico del Producto Ibicenco, Restaura´t”).

This year there are 23 restaurants competing. Each restaurant offers a €15 menu, consisting of a starter, main course and dessert, being essential the use of local Ibizan produce and food. Some of the restaurants, alternatively offer a €22 gourmet menu as well.

Ibiza home grown produce and foods will be the main attraction of Restaura’t. A great initiative to promote local produce and foods provided by the island’s food suppliers.

In the last edition, the star food was the Ibicenco cabbage. In this year’s edition they’re going to give promote all the food relating “La Matanza” (in English, the traditional pig slaughter).

Just like every edition, at the end of this gastronomic event, the winning restaurant will be chosen by the all the customers that have tried the different dishes throughout a voting.

One of the novelties in this edition, is the tasting of Ibiza virgin olive oil before the menu from the brand Oliada (included within the collective brand Oli d’E, which distinguishes the olive oil production by partner members of the “Agrupación de defensa vegetal y sanitaria del olivar de Ibiza”), an olive oil produced by mechanically cold pressing of top quality olives, obtaining a premium quality olive oil.

Another new introduction in this edition is the launch of a Restaura’t section within the app. A very useful tool for knowing the offered menus of the different restaurants, what days they offer them and how to get there by GPS positioning.

The restaurants that will be participating this year in this gastronomic event are: Ample 32, Es Centre, Es Mirai, Es Nautic Restaurant, Es Pí d’Or, Es Puig, Es Rebost de Can Prats, Es Ventall, Hostal La Torre, Kfe Sant Rafel, La Bodega, Pizzería Capricci, Pizzería Galeón, Sa Creu, Sa Palmera, Sa Prensa, Sa Punta d’es Molí, S’Avaradero, Taberna Cebo, Tast Gallery, Tijuana, Villa Manchega, Villa Mercedes and Zebra.
