Near our hotel Orosol, at about ten minutes by car, you can spend a wonderful day at the lovely beach in Cala Bassa.
Located in the township of San José, yet very near San Antonio, in the west coast of the island. It’s very easy to get there by car, plus it has a big parking lot, although it’s not free. Another interesting way to get there is by boat taking the ferry that leaves San Antonio from the promenade having daily round trips during the whole summer season.
It’s a very nice beach between natural rocky walls with the shape of a bay. Its like a natural made pool of thin sand, crystal clear water, blue and green tones, quiet and not too deep, which is perfect for everybody and for practicing water sports. You can rent jet skis or do a beginners windsurf course.
As we were saying, the beach of Cala Bassa is in between two natural rocky zones, but as well with pines and junipers which almost reach the seashore and they induce you in taking a nice walk or enjoying a wonderful siesta.
And if you take a longer walk you’ll get to an esplanade with beautiful views to the little island of “Sa Conillera” and to an old defense tower.
In this beach you will find a Beach Club, the CBbC, which is based and divided into four gastronomic and environment concepts and feeling like if you were right on the sand. CBbC Restaurant has elaborated cuisine and varied paellas and rice dishes. At the CBbC beach bar you can have traditional dishes like baked fish dishes. On the other hand CBbC’s Snack and Beach Boy offer a more simple but nice menu based on the Slow Food concept in which you can choose from delicious fresh salads to a kobe beef hamburger served to you on the Balinese beds right on the beach.
Cala Bassa is one of the island beaches that every year obtain the blue flag award recognition from the Environmental European Foundation. In order for the beach to obtain this recognition several aspects of the beach have to be analyzed, like the sea water quality, the beach facilities, the safety services and the natural environment.
One of the best beaches in Ibiza. A must.
