March sees the arrival of spring in Ibiza. And two important events: the celebrations of Sant Josep de sa Talaia and Easter.
The celebrations of San José, arrive with interesting events such as the town’s big day, on Tuesday March 19th, a party and ball, in the town square. The already classic, “Rock en s’Olivera”, on 21st March. Then, the highlight, on Saturday March 23rd, with the 60s and 70s “Flower Festival”. Everyone dresses up. There’s no room to move in Sant Josep square. And finally the “XIX Sant Pepe Rock”, this year starring “Loquillo”, on March 30th.
Also in March, this year, Ibiza will celebrate Easter. Easter will give us the opportunity to enjoy these typical holiday parades where hundreds of brethren from different sororities of the island of Ibiza parade and participants carrying pictures of each of the churches, with many attendees, who observe steps with devotion, respect and in most cases, curiosity. Particular attention should be drawn to the Ibiza town parade (there are others around the island), starting on Good Friday at 20.30pm from the Cathedral, on top of Dalt Vila and ending in Vara de Rey. Tracking the parade along the winding streets of Dalt Vila is great. Interesting.
And with Easter, the island begins to awaken from its winter lethargy. The weather improves. People start to enjoy the sea and sand on the beaches. Many terraces, restaurants, shops, etc, that remained closed until now open. It starts to warm up in Ibiza. Everyone is already getting ready for another summer. And at hotel Orosol, we are continuing to work with an eye on May. This is when we open our doors again for a new summer season with you all.
