Ibiza’s harbour area, yet more specifically, La Marina, the old part of the harbour we could say, is an emblematic place full of life and with lots of shops, bars, cafes, terraces and restaurants for you to enjoy all day.
La Marina is probably more known for its night atmosphere. Very colourful, with all kinds of people, music, gastronomy but, overall, great atmosphere and parties. But La Marina is also a perfect place for enjoying during the daytime. It’s just great to wander those streets and alleys so full of great atmosphere and “fiesta”.
Ideal for whoever is looking for fashion clothing. Ther’s from fashion cool shops and top brands and firms to the most traditional shops in which you can find those traditional Ibicenco straw baskets or “senallons”, and other fashion boutiques where you can get the genuine Ibiza Adlib fashion clothes. And, as well, dozens of little shops and hippie market stalls where you can get costume jewelry of all qualities and prices although there’s also first class jewelry shops if you prefer.
In La Marina is also great to just sit in any of the terraces of its cafes under the nice sunshine to have a really nice breakfast, brunch or a tasty ice cream, depending on the time of the day you decide to go. Some of the classic terraces are Croissant Show Ibiza, Los Valencianos, Montesol Hotel’s terrace or the legendary Marisol. Very close by these cafes you can also visit Plaza del Parque where you’ll find other great terraces with lots of atmosphere.
At the end of the famous “Calle de las farmacias” (Pharmacies street), known this way by the residents of La Marina because there are up to four pharmacies in this small street, you’ll find the very interesting and special Old Market (Mercat Vell). It’s a neoclassical style market built in 1872 and still offering the most natural products, especially fruits and vegetables. And nowadays you can also find stalls with ecological and organic food products as well as florist stalls.
When lunchtime comes up, you’ll have many options, but from here we suggest you Restaurante San Juan. They say it’s the oldest restaurant in Ibiza and it’s one of the most popular restaurants for its homemade dishes and affordable prices.
Enjoy La Marina in the daytime too! You’ll love it.
