  • Ibiza Medieval Fair 2013

The Ibiza Medieval Fair is getting closer, from the upcoming 10th to the 12th of May 2013. Ibiza Medieval Fair is one of the most important recreational and cultural events on the island, and the reason is to commemorate the declaration of Dalt Vila as a World Heritage.

Dalt Vila’s unique narrow streets, plazas and bulwarks turn into a big open air theatre set in the medieval days, with troubadours, artists, eagle tamers, artisans, goldsmiths, spice merchants, dancers, chocolate makers, and many other activities, make this event a very curious and fun show in a fascinating mix of colours, aromas and tastes.

About one hundred thousand people visit every year this three day event. An excellent choice both for kids and adults. Residents and tourists come to see and enjoy all of the different activities and shows and in which you can visit Dalt Vila by the way. As well, fascinating views of the city of Ibiza, its port and the sea right underneath. Extraordinarily pretty are its walls and all of the fortified area. An idyllic location. You can’t ask for more!

Dalt Vila’s itinerary starts at the Cathedral’s plaza, where you can see the art of falconry. A big Bedouin tent is installed at the Ibiza town’s city hall square in which you can have a delicious tea. And at the “curiase” gardens a Roman camp is recreated. Walking down the cobbled streets you’ll see many traditional craft stands and different food stalls that offer many kinds of cheeses, cold meats, chocolates, species, leather goods, soaps, fragrances, etc. from all over the world. Dalt Vila’s gates, plazas and bastions, turn into the stage and setting of performances, musical concerts and theatrical acts.

Practically all of the activities and representations are related to the different cultures and civilizations that have influenced Ibiza’s ancient history.

Nobody who’s in Ibiza during the second weekend of May can miss this attractive and popular event. You’ll love it!
