Ibiza will again host the Ibiza International Music Summit 2013 (IMS), for three nights, showcasing the best of electronic music and dance of the moment. The event will take place next May, between the 22nd and the 24th, in the walled city of Dalt Vila.
Promoters Ben Turner, Danny Whittle, Mark Netto, Pete Tong and Simeon Friend organized the IMS with the aim of creating a platform that connects sector companies (Spotify) and the audiovisual and technology industry (youtube) with artists and DJs, as well as promoting talent, sharing new ideas and connecting with fans of electronic music. Certainly, the last edition achieved significant interaction through social networks, and in particular Twitter. The slogan was “connections count”.
Also during the three-day event open workshops and lectures are organised at the Ibiza Gran Hotel. Attendees discussed the evolution and current status of the electronic music industry.
IMS organizers consider this festival as the “Opening Party” of the Ibiza summer season, which coincides with the opening of nightclubs, including Space Ibiza, considered the temple of dance music. The V edition of IMS used a sensational stage with great surround sound and spectacular lighting in the bastion of Santa Llúcia. Where we enjoyed two great performances from DJs David Guetta and Carl Cox, winner of the Grand Finale.
The IMS is an excellent time to visit Dalt Vila, the site was declared a World Heritage Site in 1999. An incredible cosmopolitan place where you can discover a whole fascinating city of narrow streets, cobbled squares and magical places. This area is considered the island’s most important cultural and artistic enclave, and not just due to the events that take place throughout the year (The Medieval Fair), but also thanks to the museums, art galleries and exhibition spaces. Moreover, one can find great restaurants, bars and shops.
