  • Quiet and sedate coves

It is common for people visiting Ibiza in the summer months to look for, among other things, beaches and/or quiet coves with less people. Of course there are plenty of visitors looking for exactly the opposite, very atmospheric beaches.

Today we present some coves and beaches that are more hidden and therefore quieter. Be aware that on 10th August it is difficult to find any quiet in Ibiza, but within the areas available, we find something that can be more peaceful, calm.

Cala Codolar, a beautiful beach with fine sand and clear waters. This is forgotten and is among some of the best beaches in Ibiza, specifically between Platges de Comte and Cala Bassa. That which at first seems like a handicap, makes it a much quieter beach, which in high season, is animportant incentive to enjoy it. It has a snack bar serving simple dishes at a good price.

Cala Saladeta, in the Sant Antoni de Portmany area, towards Santa Inés. We must go to Cala Salada and once there, looking out to sea, to the right, hidden, we find Cala Saladeta. A beautiful small cove with sandy beaches and spectacular turquoise waters. Undoubtedly, the difficulty of access (we pass through the rocks to the right, or up a difficult road that is not easy to find), means it is not as busy as others. A real joy.

Coastal zone of Porroig, in the municipality of Sant Josep. I recommend going to the bay of Porroig where tourists are scarce. Ideal for swimming. Go to the fishing huts, take a seat and enjoy this wild and natural beauty. Crystal waters. Perhaps the ground is somewhat rocky, but not a problem for access enjoying a swim.

On the popular beach of Cala Tarida in the summer months, we also have a choice of a more quiet cove. On the right side, after a few metres of rocky shore, and just opposite the island of Sa Sabata (the shoe), we find this little hidden cove, where some people are nudists. We recommend this cove if you are looking for somewhere discreet.

I cannot conclude without saying that Ibiza’s coves and available to us throughout the year. If you are looking for a real quiet paradise, dare to visit in the months other than July and August.

    Enjoy them.
