World Heritage
Ibiza is not just sun and beaches. Did you know that it was declared as World Heritage by UNESCO? The island has something more to offer: sites of great cultural richness and value that made it deserve such a classification which are a must for all those who really want to know the so called Pitiüsas (Ibiza and Formentera islands). The walled town at Dalt Vila, which includes the emblematic castle, the necropolis at Es Puig des Molins and the Phoenician settlement found at Sa Caleta, are just a few example.
Ibiza also offers a bountiful natural environment, which is full of sites of ecological interest. It also boasts unique and exceptionally beautiful landscapes and some spots of high biological value and ecosystem preservation that have been recognised by UNESCO, such as the posidonia prairies and Ses Salines Natural Preserve, which are ecosystems of magnificent value that include a rich fauna and flora biodiversity. These areas attract tourists and experts in the field, and are carefully preserved so that all visitors can enjoy them year after year.
